Large scalloped Pewter dish

$96.87

Large heavyweight pewter scalloped dish. It is marked with makers marks, indicating it was made by an Italian company, La Bottega del Peltro , founded in 1970. The three mountains featured in the stamp are inspired by the coat of arms of the Municipality of Bagolino, a medieval town in Northern Italy which was home to the Bottega del Peltro workshop.

Pewter was very big in the 70s, in part because of the revival in fashion for the arts and crafts look (William Morris etc), and this would fit well with that style. The dimensions are chunky so it would make a great centrepiece or generous fruit bowl. Dimensions are 38cm diameter x 5.5cm H.
