This is from the 1800s and is an antique stoneware ink bottle. It is marked with both the Doulton Lambeth and Rd impressed mark, and also has a 25 impressed and a K impressed in the bottom.
It has an unusual square sheered neck and ink pouring spout - this design was made by Doulton for Henry Stephens who was selling his ink to Doulton.
It has some chips in the top, and of course the expected signs of wear. It has the remains of a cork stopper loose inside it, but this is not a problem for use. It would be worth a lot more if in pristine condition, but this is perfect for a decorative vase. It has a lovely worn terracotta colour.
Dimensions are 8cm diameter by 20cm H.
